5 Ways to Wellbeing – Self-help Resources (updated)

Evidence suggests there are 5 steps you can take to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Trying these things could help you feel more positive and able to get the most out of life.

These resources (booklets, information sheets and worksheets) will introduce you to the 5 ways to wellbeing and help you explore the benefits in your own life.

  • Booklet 1 – The 5 Ways to wellbeing

This introduces you to the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ which are a set of evidence-based actions to help improve people’s mental wellbeing drawn from Foresight’s Mental Capital and Wellbeing Project (2008)

  • Booklet 2 – Long-term physical health conditions and wellbeing

This gives you advice on how to manage your emotional health and wellbeing if you are suffering from a long-term condition such as diabetes, heart disease or arthritis.

  • Booklet 3 – Pregnancy and wellbeing

This helps you to manage your emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and where you can find help.

  • Booklet 4 – Work and mental health

This is all about managing work when you have a mental health problem.

This gives you 10 stress-busting ideas to help you stay in control of your situation.
