An Introduction to Listening Skills

Being genuinely listened to is one of the most valuing and helpful experiences we can have and can enable us to feel fully understood. It is the essential ingredient in effective communication and helps build satisfying relationships. But it can be hard to do!

This one-day introductory course will cover basic skills that will enable us to listen effectively, whether at home or at work and we will look at those factors which might be a barrier to us listening to others.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Have an understanding of the skills which are key to effective listening
  • Understand the importance of body language
  • Experience the power of being genuinely listened to
  • Consider our own blocks to listening effectively.
