Understanding Quality Improvement – Bronze Training

Quality Improvement in healthcare has undoubtedly gained momentum in recent years and thankfully ‘quality’ and ‘improvement’ are now words fully embedded in the culture of the NHS.

Just focusing on the NHS , the last ten years have seen a quantum leap towards embedding quality improvement methodologies within everyday practice. There is no single definition of Quality Improvement, however, a number of definitions describe it as a systematic approach that uses specific tools and techniques to improve quality. One important ingredient in successful and sustained improvement is the way in which a ‘change’ is introduced and implemented.

Improving quality is about making healthcare safe, effective, patient-centred, timely, efficient and equitable. All staff, service users and carers have a role to play in ensuring that healthcare services continue to improve and if you are interested in finding out more this course is for you!
