It is part of the National NHS 10 Year Long Term Plan to integrate people with lived experience of mental health difficulties into the workforce. The connection between peers can offer people hope, aspiration, motivation and provide individuals accessing peer support with a greater level of empathy.
Our 8-day Level 2 Peer Mentorship course sits in line with Health Education England’s National Peer Support Competency Framework. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to work within professional services as a Peer Mentor and covers key areas including;
Understanding the role of a Peer Mentor
Professional boundaries
Trauma informed care
Risk identification and sharing appropriately
Recovery focused interventions
Self-care
