Autism – Wellbeing Strategies for Autistic Individuals

Developed by Bolton Autism Post Diagnostic Service and Trafford Extended Services – The Wellbeing Strategies for Autistic Individuals
booklet is designed to support autistic individuals, and those waiting for an autism assessment, by promoting a holistic approach to understanding and navigating life on the spectrum.

The guide also serves as a resource for parents, caregivers, health professionals, and anyone working with people who are autistic, offering valuable insights into what autism is, practical coping strategies, available support resources, self-care tips, and additional guidance.

The goal is to provide immediate, accessible information and emotional support that can enhance quality of life and meet the needs of those on the spectrum, especially while waiting for formal support services.

By addressing what autism is and offering practical strategies, this booklet aims to empower individuals and their support networks with self-help techniques, which can be implemented right away.

We are aware that not all those waiting for an assessment will receive a diagnosis, however, we believe that anyone can use these strategies and may find them helpful for their wellbeing.
