Becoming a Peer Mentor in Mental Health & Substance Misuse Services

The Level 2 Peer Mentor course is accredited by Open
awards. It is designed to strengthen the knowledge, confidence, and practical
skills of paid peer support workers and volunteer Peer Mentors, including,
listening and motivational interviewing skills, overview of policies and
procedures (including diversity and confidentiality), how to share concerns
regarding risk, capacity and informed consent, professional boundaries,
self-disclosure, mental health and substance misuse difficulties, cycle of
change, node link mapping, group facilitation skills, etc.
