NEW – Getting Back into Employment

Unemployment can have a detrimental impact on an individual’s mental wellbeing, as well as being in a job role that does not feel supportive.

At the Recovery Academy, we believe that providing education on how to re-enter a workforce or explore alternative roles, whatever role this may be in, is a powerful tool for rebuilding lives after adversity or long-term unemployment.

We have partnered with the Growth Company to provide a one-day course that aims to give you a variety of tools to help manage the practical hurdles as well as the emotional difficulties when it comes to getting back into employment or going into alternative employment.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the training programme, participants will:

  • Recognise and relate to some of the barriers of getting back into employment.
  • Feel more confident in explaining gaps in employment when applying for positions.
  • Gain a greater understanding of your rights as an employee and protected characteristics around this.
  • Be given the opportunity to build on CV writing skills.
  • Be given the opportunity to build on cover letter writing skills.
  • Understand what reasonable adjustments are, how to get these and what your options may be for both interviews and within the workplace.
