Understanding Depression & Recovery

The World Health Organisation states that over 264 million people experience depression Worldwide. Depression is more than feeling low in mood for short periods of time and differs from everyday mood changes. In fact, depression can cause a lot of different feelings and experiences and can affect every part of a person’s day to day life.

This one day course will support you to gain a better understanding of depression including a key focus around hope and recovery.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Have a greater understanding of the symptoms of depression
  • Have explored theories of why people may experience depression
  • Have heard lived experience of living with depression
  • Have explored day to day techniques to support yourself or others
  • Have gained information around support services.
