How to Find Support for Parents of Children with Mental Illness (thismayhelp.me) – NEW!

Mental health issues are extremely common and people are far more aware of them than they used to be, so while it’s natural to want to keep things quite, you may be surprised how many people in your social group have had similar experiences and want to help.

In this video Alex Beresford shares some advice from NHS mental health professionals on how to build a support network if you are a parent of a child with mental health problems.

This May Help (thismayhelp.me) is an initiative sponsored by Healthy Minds (run by Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership).

The films were developed by parents, carers and service users who got together to share their own experiences. They spoke to experts by experience, service and ex-service users, community mental health nurses, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) doctors and qualified professionals to work out the best and most helpful practical advice possible.
