NEW – Roots of Recovery

“Into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul” (John Muir, Scottish-born naturalist, explorer, writer and early champion of wilderness conservation).

This course will provide you with the tools to cultivate a mindful and beneficial relationship with nature.

Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is a sensory, mindful, and therapeutic practice that invites you to immerse yourself in a forest or natural surroundings.

The course involves hands-on outdoor sensory activities along the Prestwich Green Health Walk. Please advise us of any mobility issues or allergies at the time of booking so we can support a positive, inclusive experience for all.

Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day.

The course facilitators may amend the trail to suit weather and mobility needs of the group on the day.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Have explored the foundations of ‘forest bathing’: a mindful nature-based practice.
  • Have been invited to engage the senses when exploring natural surroundings.
  • Have reflected on ways to support your mental wellbeing outdoors.
  • Have appreciated nature as an ‘ally’ to be respected and protected.
